When should you not take saw palmetto?

Don’t use it during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Surgery: Saw palmetto might slow blood clotting. It might cause excess bleeding during and after surgery.

Stop using saw palmetto at least 2 weeks before a planned surgery.
