Where does motherwort grow?

Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) is a famous medicinal herb that grows wild close to creeks or rivers from Canada to the east of the Rocky Mountains. It has a reputation as a rapidly spreading weed because it can grow basically anywhere, whether in a neglected garden or deep in the woods.
